New Orleans- The University of New Orleans volleyball team will try to get back on the winning track Saturday, October 21, when Central Arkansas (18-3, 7-2 Southland) comes to town. The match will start at Noon.
New Orleans (9-12, 3-6 Southland) had their two-game win streak snapped Thursday night by Northwestern State in four sets, 25-17, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23. The Privateers had 3 players with double-digit kills in the match---freshman
Kyra Hunter (13),
Lane Hindenburg (12) and
Rondolyn Bryant (10). In the win over Lamar on October 17, UNO had four players with double-digit kills.
Junior middle blocker
Kaitlyn Grice is leading the Southland Conference in hitting percentage at .352. Grice is currently second in blocks with 1.21 per set.
Grice has company in the top ten in hitting percentage. She is joined by
Lane Hindenburg, a junior with a .305 percentage, good enough for eighth in the SLC. She had a hitting percentage of .400 against Northwestern State.

Blessing Dunn leads the team in digs with 249 total and 3.04 avg/s and Nela Grau is the leader in assists with a total of 501 averaging 6.26 avg/s.
The Sugar Bears of Central Arkansas are fresh off a sweep of Southeastern Louisiana Thursday night in Hammond, Louisiana, 25-14, 25-19, 25-21. They've had win streaks of 8 and 6 games this season.
The UCA is statistically leading the Southland Conference in three categories: kills (13.93), assists (12.89) and service aces (1.64). They also rank second in the SLC in hitting percentage at .257.
Samantha Anderson, a junior, ranked third in the conference in hitting percentage (.337) and fourth in kills (.349). Elizabeth Armstrong is tops in the SLC in assists at 10.72 while Megan Nash ranks 5
th in hitting percentage at .319.
The last time New Orleans and Central Arkansas met in volleyball was October 15, 2016, in Conway, Arkansas. UCA swept the match 25-12, 25-23, 25-18.
After Saturday's meeting with Central Arkansas, the Privateers return to action Thursday, October 26, when they face Stephen F. Austin at the Human Performance Center at 6:30 p. m.
