Baton Rouge - Three members of the University of New Orleans men's tennis team picked up singles victories in consolation matches at the ITA Southern Regional held at the LSU Tennis Complex over the weekend.
UNO's
Alexis Guedy defeated Aljaz Kaplja of Jacksonville State 6-4 ,6-2.
Johannes Klein downed Shaz Peerani of Troy 5-0 ret, and
Christian Fjeldstad defeated Ignacio Rodriguez of Troy, 7-6(4), 2-6, 10-4.
Two Privateers lost matches in the consolation round,
Federico Boscarino of UNO fell to Toby Lentz of Nicholls 6-3, 6-2 and Chase Shupp of Tulane bested New Orleans'
Lorenzo Camilli in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
In Doubles Round of 64:
Gomez/Kaplja of Jacksonville State defeated

Alexis Guedy of UNO 8-6.
Gingras/Gonzalez of UAB defeated Nicholas Kramer/
Christian Fjeldstad of UNO 8-3.

The ITA Southern Regional will run through Monday, October 23 in Baton Rouge.
