New Orleans- The University of New Orleans volleyball team will make the short trip to Thibodaux, Louisiana to face Nicholls, Saturday, November 4, at Noon.
The Privateers (10-15,4-9 Southland) lost their last outing in Lake Charles Thursday evening to McNeese in three sets, 25-16, 25-16, 29-27. While Nicholls (4-22, 2-11 Southland) lost at home to Southeastern Louisiana in four sets, 25-22, 25-12, 20-25, 29-27).
Kaitlyn Grice, a junior continues to be one of the statistical leaders in the Southland Conference. Tops in hitting percentage the last two weeks, Grice is now second in that category at.355. She is third in the conference in blocks with 1.21 Avg/S.
After an 8-kill performance in the loss to McNeese,
Lane Hindenburg continues to rank in the top ten in the Southland in hitting percentage ranking 8
th at .292.
Blessing Dunn, a junior from Jacksonville, Alabama, leads New Orleans in total kills (211), digs (294), and service aces (24).
Junior Nela Grau leads the team in assists with 549 total---5.90 Ast/Set.
This is the only matchup between the Privateers and the Colonels this season. In 2016, Nicholls swept the series with New Orleans winning in Thibodaux and New Orleans.
The next outing for the Privateers is Tuesday, November 7, at the Human Performance Center when Southeastern Louisiana Comes to town. It will be Senior Night and senior
