NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans men's tennis team concludes the 2017 regular season on Monday, April 24, when the Privateers host Xavier University at 2 p.m.

Giacomo Adoncecchi was victorious in his doubles match.
"This should be a good match," head coach
Burzis Kanga said. "It will be a good tune-up for us before the conference tournament. We cannot underestimate [Xavier], they are one of the top teams in the NAIA and can surprise us if we don't come strong from the first serve."
The Privateers (7-11) enter the non-conference contest on a two-match skid, losing to nationally-ranked SMU and in-state foe LSU. Adoncecchi leads UNO with 10 wins in singles action and 16 total victories, while juniors
Federico Boscarino and
Federico Staksrud each have eight triumphs in doubles play.
Xavier (10-5) also enters the skirmish on a two-match skid, dropping a pair of contest in Pensacola, Fla., to NCAA Division II powerhouses No. 9 Columbus Sate and No. 1 West Florida. The Gold Rush have a plethora of players ranked in the ITA National Rankings, highlighted by Antoine Richard, the No. 4 singles player in the NAIA, and the sixth-ranked doubles pairing in Richard and Moses Michael.
Up next for New Orleans is the Southland Conference Championships, played in Beaumont, Texas, which begins on Friday, April 28.
