PLAYER OF THE WEEK… X2
Bryson Robinson was named Southland Conference and College Sports Madness Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists. The Mesquite native connected on nine triples.
In Saturday's overtime victory at McNeese State University, Robinson went off to a tune of 31 points on 10-of-13 shooting, 7-of-8 from three-point range, eight rebounds and four assists.
The 31 points were the most since
Erik Thomas, last season's Southland Conference Player of the Year, poured in 31 in the opening victory versus LaGrange College (Nov. 11). The seven threes were the most since
Christavious Gill drained eight versus Northwestern State University March 5, 2016.

• The Privateers begin a three-game homestand against the Islanders Saturday at 4:15 p.m. at Lakefront Arena.
• The last time these two clubs faced? New Orleans was cutting down the nets in Katy as the 2017 Southland Conference Tournament Champions, receiving the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
• Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is struggling after losing Southland Preseason All-First Team selection Ehab Amin to a season-ending injury prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign.

Travin Thibodeaux is coming off a career-high 24-point performance at SFA Wednesday. The senior went 10-of-13 from the field and added five assists. He leads the club in scoring averaging 16.3 points on 56.3 percent shooting and his 6.1 rebounds are a team-high. His 16.3 points rank fifth in the conference.

Diontae Champion (11 points) also reached double figures Wednesday.
• Reigning Southland Conference Player of the Week
Bryson Robinson scored nine points and dished out four assists. He is averaging 8.7 points and dishing out 3.3 assists.
• Islanders guard Joseph Kilgore is third in the league in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game.

The last time they met, the Privateers were cutting down the nets en route to their first Southland Conference championship.
Saturday, the Islanders visit Lakefront Arena with New Orleans looking to improve to 5-1 in conference play. The Privateers are a perfect 5-0 at Lakefront Arena this season.
Travin Thibodeaux has six 20-point games this season, including a career-high 24 on 10-of-13 shooting Wednesday. The senior is averaging 16.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals, all team-highs.

The struggling Texas A&M-Corpus Christi squad is missing preseason first-teamer Ehab Amin, who was hurt prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign. Led by Joseph Kilgore's 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists, the Islanders are coming off a setback at the hands of Sam Houston State Wednesday.
THE SERIES
New Orleans holds the slight lead in the all-time series, 8-7, and the Privateers are 5-2 when hosting the Islanders. Last season, UNO swept the series, including the 68-65 overtime victory in the Southland Conference Tournament championship game.
