SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of New Orleans women's basketball team travels to the McDermott Center Saturday, January 27 to face UIW for the second time within a week. A win will put the Privateers over the 500 mark for the first time this season and extend their winning streak to five---the longest streak since New Orleans joined the Southland Conference in 2013. Tipoff is 11 a. m.

Randi Brown with 3.2 seconds to go in regulation, New Orleans defeated the Cardinals on January 20, 52-50. Both clubs are familiar with each other and know what to expect.
"It's always difficult to beat a team twice. But when you are playing them back-to-back like this it's about looking at the last time you played them and see the things you can correct and do well," said head coach
Keeshawn Davenport. "There are several things we can do well against UIW on Saturday."
In the win over UIW, UNO shot poorly hitting only 20-of-55 from the field for 36.4% and 0-for-11 on 3-pointers.
New Orleans (10-10, 6-3 SLC) heads to San Antonio armed with the 9th ranked scorer in the nation and tops in the Southland Conference in
Randi Brown at 22.5 points a game. The senior from Houma, Louisiana has scored 450 points this season and is 80 points shy of becoming the second player in UNO basketball history to reach 2-thousand career points. Brown leads the Southland Conference with 13 games of at least 20 points.

Shania Woods had another big game in the win over Northwestern State with a career-high 21 points and 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. The Houston, Texas native averages 10.9 points a game and ranks fourth in the Southland Conference (SLC) in rebounds with 8.3 a contest.
"No longer will I be surprised or over-celebrate Shania having a double-double. I think she's supposed to have a double-double every night," said Davenport.
Kayla Mundy had 16 against Northwestern State---her eighth double-figure performance in the last nine games. Mundy, who knocks down 10.7 points a game, has canned 48-of-56 free throws and her percentage of .857 places her third in the SLC.
The Privateers lead the SLC in free throw shooting hitting 302-of-395 (.765).
UIW has suffered two straight close defeat in conference to UNO (52-50) and a 58-56 two-point setback at the hands of Houston Baptist on January 20. The Cardinals have dropped five straight and they are led in scoring by Imani Robinson (11.8). Sydnee Wynn is the Cardinals' top rebounder with 7.2 a contest.
UIW has two of the top shot blockers in the Southland Conference in Wynn with 24 and Quincy Baker with 25. Both average 1.3 blocks an outing.
After facing UIW, New Orleans will return to the court on Wednesday, January 31 when they travel to Natchitoches, Louisiana for a return match against the Lady Demons of Northwestern State.
