New Orleans- The University of New Orleans (11-15, 7-10 Southland) basketball team will try to clinch a spot in the Southland Conference Tournament with a win and celebrate Senior Night honoring the lone senior on the team,

A win by New Orleans would give the Privateers a spot in the conference tournament for the third straight year. UNO won an earlier match with the Lady Lions in Hammond back on Feb. 20, 61-58.
"I don't feel any pressure. I don't know if the team feels pressure but I feel like if we take care of business, destiny is in our own hands," says head coach
Keeshawn Davenport.
It will be the final home and regular-season game for center
Shania Woods. The Houston, Texas native has been a quiet leader this season, letting her consistent play on the court do her talking.
Shania has statistically placed her name among the best players in the history of the program. With 1,206 career-points she is 8
th all-time in scoring. Woods is 9
th in field goals made with 458. She ranks 3
rd in rebounds with 846 behind Carvie Upshaw (1985-89) and Sandra Hodge (1980-84).
"She has been extremely consistent in the program, scoring inside and rebounding. I've watched her grow her game over the last couple of years, she's even taken a couple of 3's."
"Shania is definitely one of the players who helped the renaissance of the women's program. She'll always be remembered as one that bought into the vision of this program and really helping that vision come to pass. I am grateful and honored and feel blessed to have coached her," said Davenport.
Woods has turned in 13 double-double performances this season. Currently she averages 14.0 points a game, good enough for 9
th in the Southland. She ranks 2
nd in rebounding with 9 a contest and she is 6
th in the league in field goal percentage hitting 48% of her shots.
The Southland Conference Tournament is Wednesday-Saturday, Mar. 13-16 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas.
