NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans men's basketball is home Wednesday and the baseball squad hosts its media day Friday at Maestri Field to highlight home events on the Lakefront.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers (6-14, 2-8 Southland) welcome Northwestern State (7-11, 4-5 Southland) Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Hotard Throwback Night.
A razor scooter, UNO25 reunion and a pregame Alumni Networking event at Pier 504 highlight the promotions.
Bryson Robinson has reached double figures in all 20 games this season and is 13 points shy of becoming the 16th Privateer to score 1,000 career points.
New Orleans hits the road for a three-game homestand, beginning at Southeastern Louisiana Saturday.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The New Orleans women's basketball team is looking to continue its winning ways with two road Southland Conference contests this week. The Privateers will be at Northwestern State on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6:30 PM CST and then at Southeastern on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 PM. New Orleans is 10-8 overall which includes a mark of 6-3 in conference play. The Privateers are currently slotted fifth in the conference and are fresh off a 77-65 victory over Nicholls this past Saturday.
TRACK & FIELD
The New Orleans track & field program will compete in their third meet of the indoor season as the men's and women's teams will head to Lake Charles, La. for the McNeese Indoor Invite on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Ralph O. Ward Recreation Complex. The field events will get started early in the day at 11 AM CST and will be followed by the track portion of the schedule at 4:30 PM. The new look Privateers are coming off a successful UAB Green and Gold Invitational in which the two squads combined to set 17 new personal bests in their respective event.
BASEBALL
Media Day is scheduled for Friday, January 31 at 2 p.m. at Maestri Field.
