NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans men's basketball concludes its three-game homestand versus Central Arkansas Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Lakefront Arena, women's basketball hits the road Wednesday and Saturday and track and field begins their 2020 indoor season.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers (4-10, 0-4 Southland) take on the Bears (4-11, 3-1 Southland) Wednesday on Hometown Heroes Night and UIW (3-10, 0-2 Southland) Saturday at 4:15 p.m. New Orleans leads the league and is among the nation's best at the charity stripe.
Bryson Robinson is coming off a 31-point performance versus SFA Saturday. The mark tied his career high and went 11-of-12 from the line after entering the week leading NCAA Division I in free throw percentage. Robinson is averaging 17.1 points and is shooting 36.9 percent from deep.
Troy Green is posting 13.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and is knocking down 94.1 percent from the line, second to Robinson's 96.5 clip.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
New Orleans women's basketball will look to add to its current three-game winning-streak (which includes two consecutive victories against conference foes). The Privateers hits the road for Southland matchups at Central Arkansas on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. and UIW Saturday at 2 p.m. With its recent run, the Privateers jumped up to seventh in the conference after their win against then top-ranked Stephen F. Austin this past Saturday.
TRACK AND FIELD
The New Orleans track & field program will open its 2020 campaign with LSU's Purple Tiger Invitational at the Carl Maddox Field House Friday. The field consists of 10 teams, made up by Grambling, Hinds, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Tulane, UL-Monroe and New Orleans.
