A Message From Tim Duncan

Blurb

Fellow Privateers:

The past week has been full of rapid change and turbulence as developments with COVID-19 (coronavirus) are unveiled.

These are unprecedented times and I want to take a moment to connect with you, our fans and supporters, and assure you that the health and safety of our student-athletes is our top priority.

Communication is key in times like these and I want to share with you a summary of the information and decisions made on various levels in recent days:

The NCAA:

The Southland Conference:
The University of New Orleans:
  • Suspended all in-class instruction and transitioned to remote instruction through the end of the semester;
  • Students may choose to return home or may stay on campus. Accommodations will be made for those who choose to stay on campus;
  • Only essential personnel will report to work on campus. All non-essential employees are asked to work remotely until further notice.

Please know that we remain vigilant in the wake of new developments and all decisions are made with the well-being of our student-athletes in mind.

New Orleans is the hub for coronavirus in our state and the situation remains fluid. We are working closely with Dr. Nicklow, our colleagues in the Southland Conference, and city and state officials to be proactive and take every precaution deemed necessary.

We hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy during this time and we encourage you to stay vigilant and informed as well.

For the latest developments please visit the University's FAQ page and COVID-19 Information page. You may also visit UNOPrivateers.com for the the latest releases from Privateer Athletics.

Thank you for your continued support during these uncertain times and thank you for being a part of #NOLAsTeam.

Go Privateers!
