New Orleans Places 108 Student-Athletes on Southland Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll

FRISCO, Texas – The spring semester came to an abrupt halt due to COVID-19, and despite the change to online instruction, New Orleans surpassed the century mark on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll with 108 student-athletes eclipsing a 3.00 GPA.

The dedication to academics is clear when comparing Spring 2019 to Spring 2020. The Privateers featured 63 Spring Honor Roll student-athletes last season.

To qualify for the Spring Honor Roll, student-athletes had to receive a 3.0+ GPA in the spring and be an active member of a Southland affiliated varsity program, including beach volleyball for the first time. The 2020 campaign was the inaugural season of beach in the SLC.

Of the 108 Spring Honor Roll recipients, 29 posted 4.0 GPAs. Baseball led the way with 23, followed by 17 for women's track and field, 16 for beach volleyball, 14 for men's track and field, nine for women's basketball, eight apiece for men's and women's tennis, seven for men's basketball and six for golf.
