Texas A&M Grad Transfer Tyler Guillory to Join New Orleans Track & Field Program

The New Orleans track & field program continues to attract high-end talent with latest signee Tyler Guillory from Texas A&M University.

NEW ORLEANS – The #NewEra for the New Orleans track & field program is in full swing as the Privateers added another standout student-athlete in graduate transfer Tyler Guillory from Texas A&M, announced by director of track & field Brian Johnson on Thursday.

"I am really excited to add Tyler to our team," Johnson said. "He gives us a real presence in the men's 110-meter hurdles that we need and with his experience at NCAA Regionals and competing on a high level, he will be a big asset in helping to mentor our younger athletes on the team."

Guillory advanced to the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round in the 110-meter hurdles during his 2018 outdoor campaign where he set his personal record of 13.91 in the event. The Houston, Texas native finished ninth in the 110H during the same season at the conference outdoor championship meet. He has also added a ninth-place finish in the 60H at the 2018 SEC Indoor Championships.

Most recently, Guillory took 12th overall in the 60H at the 2019 SEC Indoor Championships. He is also ninth all-time in Texas A&M school history with his PR of 7.96 in the 60H, set during Arkansas's Razorback Invitational in January 2018.

Guillory graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in sociology in the Spring of 2020 and spent the summer working for the Harris County Commissioner of Precinct 3.

To go with his success on the track and in the classroom, Guillory also spent some time as a track & field coach with the City of Bryan, just outside of College Station, Texas.

Guillory enters New Orleans with collegiate personal bests of 21.78 in the 200, 7.96 in the 60H, 13.91 in the 110H and 53.55 in the 400H.
