TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – One of the best cross country student-athletes in University of New Orleans history ended her run as a Privateer on a high note as
Arina Kleshchukova concluded her storied cross career with a 232nd-place finish at the NCAA Division I National Championships at Apalachee Regional Park on Saturday morning. The UNO standout is the first and only student-athletes in school history to advance to two NCAA Division I National Championships.

NOTABLES
- Kleshchukova took on the best field the sport has to offer, on a very fast course, and finished 232nd overall with a time of 21:50.2 over the 6K course.
- The national performance was the final race for Kleshchukova for her UNO cross country career, one that will go down as the best in school history. She is the only student-athlete to advance to two national championship meets in program history, had four straight Southland Championship podium appearances (which includes her title-winning run in 2019), two South Central All-Region honors (2019 and 2021), and numerous Southland Conference and Louisiana Sports Writer Association (LSWA) Runner of the Year selections. Kleshchukova also excelled in the classroom where she was a multiple-time receipt of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors as an individual.
- While she might be done with cross, Kleshchukova will return to the track for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
