ELMWOOD, La. – New Orleans beach volleyball ended the Green Wave Invitational at White Sands with a 4-1 victory over Utah (1-3) Saturday. The Privateers came out victorious in the top four flights to split day two of the Tulane hosted event.
UAB DEFEATS NEW ORLEANS 5-0
Madeline Drake and
Liz Gialanella forced a tiebreaking set at No. 4 after erasing a 21-17 loss with a 21-15 win. The back-and-forth third set ultimately went to the Lady Blazers 15-13.
At the top flight,
Veronica Corcoran and
Victoria Corcoran also forced a third set with a 23-21 set two win.
Maxine Walsh and
Ally Carr threatened at No. 2, 21-19, 22-20.

NEW ORLEANS DEFEATS UTAH 4-1
The Corcoran twins took the top flight with ease 21-15, 21-12 and
Brianna Vega and
Alexa Spartz made it 2-1 UNO with a 21-11, 21-19 win at No. 3.
The victory was clinched with Carr and Walsh's victory at No. 2 in straight sets. Drake and Gialanella completed the comeback with a 15-21, 21-13, 15-8 win at No. 4 as the Privateers downed the Utes.
