FRISCO, Texas – Cassie and
Ellie Sieling proved a dynamic duo all season and earned Second Team All-Southland as the beach volleyball all-conference teams were announced on Tuesday morning.
In their first season on the Lakefront, the Sieling sisters went 18-10 overall and 5-1 in designated Southland matches. The pair also had an 11-match winning streak at one point which was the longest by a Privateer beach pair since 2022.
The duo went 3-1 at the Southland Mid-Conference, which included a victory against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's top pair of Kristin Bobay and Madison Morrow who were named Southland Pair of the Year. Cassie and Ellie beat them 21-13, 19-21, 16-14 in Youngsville on Mar. 21.
They also defeated Southland pairs in non-conference matchups. That included two wins against McNeese's top pair of Kendall Osgood and McKenzie Moore. They also defeated Southeastern's top pair of Mia Sauers and Gabriela Hrubanova twice.
Their 11-match winning streak started on Mar. 21 and extended through Apr. 11. In that stretch, they won eight of their 11 matches without needing a deciding third set.
Cassie and Ellie won all 18 of their matches at flight one. It was the most wins a Privateer duo has collected at that spot since Ania Esarte and Maria Ozaeta won 21 matches at the top spot in 2023.
The sisters were a big part of the Privateers' step forward this season. New Orleans' winning percentage in individual matches went up 16 points and they had seven more match wins this year than in 2025.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi swept all the superlatives including Pair of the Year, Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
The Privateers will start the Southland Tournament on Wednesday morning against HCU at 9 a.m.
