BASEBALL
Off the heels of a 4-0 weekend, the Privateers (9-7, 4-0) will travel for their first weekend series when they face Stephen F. Austin. First pitch for the series opener is at 6:30 p.m.
Gaige Howard went 10-for-19 at the plate and drove in six runs. He also had three doubles in the HBU series.
Kasten Furr racked up eight hits and scored four runs.
Pearce Howard went 5-for-7 in the last two games of the series.
Chris Turpin threw the first complete game shutout by a Privateer in four years (Apr. 2017). Turpin needed just 87 pitches for his complete game outing against HBU in the series opener.
The pitching staff recorded 46 strikeouts in five games last week (HBU four times and LSU).

Blake Dean is six wins away from passing Randy Bush in career wins at New Orleans.
TENNIS
Both squads are in action this week and both start at home. The men's team will face North Dakota in a Wednesday morning tilt slated for a 10 a.m. start at the University Tennis Center.
The Privateers (3-2, 1-0) went 2-1 last week and opened their conference slate with a victory against Abilene Christian.
Austin Vos went 4-2 between singles and doubles while playing at flight one.
Luke Joujan and
Max Heinzel are both on four-match winning streaks in singles.
The women's team (4-1, 4-0) has three matches this week. They will face Omaha on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the University Tennis Center. They will then head to Texas for two road conference matches against Sam Houston (Mar. 19) and Stephen F. Austin (Mar. 21).
The Privateers secured wins against Abilene Christian and UIW in the previous week. Claudette Gileshpie made her return to the lineup and won both singles matches.
Lea Alguacil and
Ank Vullings are 3-1 as a team in doubles, all against conference foes.
VOLLEYBALL
The Privateers (2-8, 2-6) will play two home matches this week against UIW (Thursday, Mar. 18) and Texas A&M-CC (Saturday, Mar. 20). The match times are for 6:30 and 12 p.m. respectively.
Thursday's match will honor the academic achievements of both the beach and indoor volleyball programs. The pregame ceremony will be sponsored by Northwestern Mutual.
New Orleans returned home last Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Abilene Christian.
Atira Jells had a career best 16 kills while
Chloe Hampton and
Shelby Pullins also landed in double figures in kills.
Hannah Volpi, who has assumed the role of setter, posted 45 assists in the most recent match.
Sheilah Purcell racked up 24 digs.
TRACK & FIELD
The New Orleans track & field program is back after a standout performance to open the outdoor season at the South Alabama Invitational.
Harrison Coleman went off and won the individual title in the men's 400m hurdles and the Privateers recorded 24 personal bests at the meet.
The Privateers are wasting no time during outdoors and will be back with the two-day Louisiana Classics, hosted by Louisiana, set for this Friday, March 19 through Saturday, March 20 at the Ragin' Cajuns Track Complex in Lafayette, La.
Friday's schedule consists of field events at 3 PM CT while track events will begin at 6:30 PM. Saturday will start field events at 10 AM while the track portion of the schedule will follow at 2 PM.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
New Orleans (3-4) resumes the 2021 campaign in Baton Rouge, taking on nationally-ranked LSU and South Carolina Saturday and Southern Miss and HBU Sunday.

Brianna Vega have three wins at No. 3 and

Liz Gialanella have three victories at No. 4.
