Privateer Volleyball Announces Two Signees

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball program has announced two new signees to the program for the upcoming 2021 season as Irene Kitson and Rita Zecchin have joined the squad.
 
Kitson is a true freshman coming from LaGrangeville, N.Y. At Arlington High School, Kitson had 171 kills in 75 sets during her senior year. Kitson also contributed a block per set defensively with 74 rejections in 75 sets. She also had 17 service aces.
 
In her junior season, the 6'2" opposite had 22 blocks along with 62 kills and 12 service aces. In her final season, the team went 11-3 with a 9-1 record in league play. The team did not drop a set in their first five matches of the season.
 
Zecchin played 22 matches and 76 sets at Daytona State College last season. A sophomore from Italy, Zecchin recorded 2.75 kills per set (209 total). She also contributed defensively with 260 digs (3.42 per set).
 
An intended business administration major, Zecchin was on the Dean's List at Daytona State. Zecchin was also one of six Falcons to make the Mid-Florida All-Conference Team, garnering first team honors.
