SECOND ROUND RESULTS
NEW ORLEANS – For the first 15 holes during round two of the Fall Golfweek Challenge, the Privateers looked ready to turn one of the best rounds in school history. Struggles on holes 16, 17, and 18 left Coach Lorio thinking about what could have been as they finished the day two-under-par (286).
Grayson Gilbert led the charge for the Privateers shooting a four-under-par 68 during round two, his best collegiate round since shooting a 66 as a sophomore at the David Toms Intercollegiate in 2019. After making seven birdies on Monday afternoon the Monroe native moved up 10 spots on the leaderboard and currently sits tied for 12th.
Brady Bennett continued his solid play this season with his second consecutive round of one-under-par (71). Through the first two days, Brady has made seven birdies and sits tied for 19th.
Rounding out the scores for New Orleans were
Henry Augenstein with his second straight 73,
Florian Moosmeier with his second straight 74, and
Lukas Heckmann who made a three-stroke improvement shooting a 74 on Monday afternoon.
UNO currently sits in 10th place at 576 (even par) - only five strokes outside of the top five. The Privateers opened a tournament with back-to-back rounds at 290 or better for the first time since the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in 2015.

HEAD COACH JEFF LORIO
"Overall I'm disappointed with the performance today. Although it was a solid round from tee to green and we did a better job of eliminating the big numbers we missed way too many putts that we should have converted."
"For us to be the team I think we can be – that needs to get cleaned up. We absolutely have to be better converting those opportunities on the green."
"Throughout the lineup we also really struggled on the last three or four holes, playing those seven over par."
"We will spend some time this afternoon working on the putting green and I fully expect that we will come out better tomorrow ready to make a move up the leaderboards"
