Matt Lotz Finishes Fifth at the ASU Spring Invitational

NEW ORLEANS - Cape Town native Matthew Lotz earned the first top-five finish of his UNO career after shooting a 214 at the ASU Spring Invitational earlier this week. As a team, the Privateers used rounds of 289, 300, and 300 to finish in seventh place.

The UNO junior finished his first round 4-under-par after shooting a 68 and shot even-par during Tuesday's third round. He finished his time in Jonesboro with 11 birdies and an eagle. Lotz notched a pair of top-20 finishes this season, along with a top-10 finish to go with today's top-5 effort.

Max Feistmantle's scorecard of 222 tied him for 25th place on Tuesday. "Maxi" finished his tournament with a flourish. After a bogey on Hole 2, the senior birdied five of his final seven holes on his way to an even-par finish for Round 3.

Tom Watson and Jude Bourque finished tied for 56th after both shot a 232. Taylor Boasberg, playing as an independent, finished 58th with a score of 233. Adam Trahan finished tied for 59th with a score of 234.

No. 46 Arkansas State won its own tournament with a score of 839 — 38 strokes ahead of second-place HCU. Thomas Schmidt won the individual championship with a score of 210. Five of the six Red Wolves on the course finished their 54 holes under par.

New Orleans will head to Kerrville, Texas, for the 2026 Southland Conference Championships on April 20-22. The tournament takes place at Comanche Trace on the Hills and Valley courses. Wednesday's final round will be streamed live on ESPN+.
