Tough Conditions Lead to Tough Start for Privateer Golf

DAY ONE RESULTS

NEW ORLEANS - With a cold front coming through the Spring, Texas area the University of New Orleans golf team shot rounds of 308 and 305 to finish the first day of the Colin Montgomerie Invitational in 9th place out of 16 teams.

HEAD COACH JEFF LORIO
"Really tough conditions out there today. A cold front came through early this morning and we played all day with a cold north wind blowing about 20 miles per hour. I thought we allowed those conditions to really affect us mentally. We were never able to get into a rhythm or anytime of momentum going – it was an extremely frustrating day on the golf course."

"At the end of the day we didn't come close to getting the job done. No excuses we must be more mentally tough throughout the lineup. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for tomorrow looks worse than it looked today. We will have another opportunity to see how we handle adversity."
