NEW ORLEANS – Fresh off being ranked top-10 in the South Central region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association the University of New Orleans Cross Country teams will host eight Pelican State rivals tomorrow evening.
The 2022 edition of the New Orleans XC Opener will take place at Lake Oaks Park – just minutes away from campus and will be the first meet for Head Coach
Brock Moreaux since being promoted in August. The women's 4K will get underway at 6:00 p.m. with the men running a 5k starting about 45 minutes later.
Friday's races will mark the first home meet for the Privateers since 2019. The past two New Orleans XC Openers were canceled due to COVID-19, and Hurricane Ida. The men's team won the last New Orleans XC Opener with 34 points and the women finished third with 54 points.

Alex Soileau ran in the 2019 meet for the Privateer men - Kolyn finished in seventh-place with a time of 15:52.239.

Anna Martin have prior UNO XC Opener experience for the Privateer women.
