NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team will participate in the UNA Volleyball Classic this weekend. The Privateers (2-1) will play two opponents in Lamar (10 a.m.) and Grambling (3 p.m.) on Friday. The weekend closes against the host, North Alabama, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Privateers racked up 31 service aces in the opening weekend, the most of any Southland school and 11
th most of anyone in the nation.
Mauri Carver had nine aces at the D.C. Challenge.
Micah Hall had five and
Molly Kehoe and
Kamryn Scroggins had four each.
New Orleans was also racking up digs in bunches in the first weekend. Their 16 digs per set only trailed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi among Southland schools through the first three matches. Four Privateers had 25 or more total digs, led by
Sheilah Purcell's 57.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Privateers enter winners of three straight against Lamar and are 19-26 all-time. New Orleans has not lost in two career matches against Grambling, the last of which came in 2015. The Privateers are 0-3 against North Alabama and have not played the Lions since 2011.
OPPONENTS
North Alabama won both matches against UNC-Asheville and Stonehill College in the UNC-Asheville Invitational. Lamar hosted the Katrinka Crawford Invitational and lost both matches to Idaho State and Tulane.
Grambling is 1-2 on the season with a four-set win against Southern Illinois. The Tigers lost a mid-week match in Ruston against Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.
