NEW ORLEANS – Head Coach Trelanne Powell and her staff have locked in the first signee for the class of 2024 as they have signed Georgia guard Tre'Miyah Berry.
Berry is entering her senior year at Rockdale County HS and has already piled up accolades at the high school level. Last season, she was an All-Region selection in the second highest classification (6A) in the state.
It was a special run for Rockdale County to a Regional Championship where the Bulldogs were in the same region as four schools who were ranked in the top five in the state in Class 6A. Rockdale County won the Region title against Woodward Academy, a game that saw Berry pour in 17 points.
Heading into this season, Berry was named Preseason All-State. She also earned the title of Mrs. Basketball 2023-24 at Rockdale County HS.
"We are beyond thrilled to tab Tre'Miyah Berry as our first signee in the '24 class," said Coach Powell. "She is a tremendous talent that will impact our program immediately as a freshman. Her size and high IQ boosts her ability to get to her spots on the court and that's a very dangerous combo for a sharp shooter."
Berry has averages of 12.0 points per game, two rebounds per game, two assists per game and one steal per game at Rockdale County. She shot just shy of 40 percent from three-point range during the 2022-23 season.
