New Orleans Drops One at Ohio State

Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio - Despite its stifling defense in opening half, New Orleans men's basketball could not overcome Ohio State's late first half run that led to a 78-36 decision  at Value City Arena Thursday.
 
The Buckeyes went on to shoot 53.8% in the second half to improve to 10-2 in their final non-conference home game.
 
New Orleans (5-7) forced six Ohio State turnovers through 12 minutes of play and held the Big Ten squad to 36% shooting in the first half. At one point, both teams locked down defensively as they went scoreless for over four minutes before the home team pulled away. With four players in double-figures, the Buckeyes shot 44.1% from the field overall.

Jordan Johnson led the Privateers with eight points, five rebounds, and two assists. Khaleb Wilson-Rouse had seven points.  

NEXT UP
The Privateers will enjoy a short holiday break before reuniting in Nacogdoches, Texas to face former Southland Conference foe Stephen F. Austin on Friday, Dec. 29. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
