NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Track and Field program capped off its trip to the Lone Star State with a pair of third place finishes and four personal bests at the Bobcat Invitational on Sunday.
Oxana Bonjorn-Giros had the top performance of the afternoon for the Privateers, finishing the 3000M Steeplechase in third place with a time of 11:01.45. Her time on Sunday was two seconds faster than her pervious personal best, and 29 seconds faster than her first collegiate time in the Steeplechase in 2022.
Mason Appleton matched Bonjorn-Giros with a third place finish of his own – in the men's 1500. Appleton also set a personal best with his time of 4:01.30. It's the second week in a row Mason has set a new personal best in the event following last week's Battle on the Bayou.
Other personal bests set on Sunday at the Bobcat Invitational include
Jorim Bangue who set a new 110M Hurdles personal best with a finish of 14.36 – good for 12
th place, and
Trinity Bracey whose time of 56.47 was a new personal best in the 400M.

A selection of Privateer Track and Field will head to Azusa, Calif for the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 12-14. The event will be streamed on FloTrack – information about live results will be made available closer to the event.
