FINAL RESULTS
NEW ORLEANS – Nine Privateers wrapped up the regular season on Saturday afternoon for the University of New Orleans Track and Field program at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge.
Kelvin Chiku set a new personal best in the 800 meters with a second place finish in a time 1:50.19. It was a sixth tenth of a second improvement on his pervious personal best time set on April 22 at the J Fred Duckett Twilight. That mark sits fourth on the Southland Performance List at the conclusion of Saturday evening.
Vivette Green ran her first outdoor 200 since finishing second at last year's Outdoor Southland Championships. The Douglasville, Ga native finished in 24.69 seconds, good for 33
rd overall, and a top-12 time in the conference this season.
The Privateer men's and women's teams also ran in the 4x100s on Saturday morning. The men (
Mason Melancon,
Elliott Cummings,
Jayden Sloan and
Ellis Cummings) finished in fifth place with a time of 39.94 ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide. The women (Green,
Alimot Alowonle,
Helen Baumgarten, and
Aisha Johnson) finished in seventh place with a time of 46.43.
