NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball staff has added their first signee for the upcoming season in transfer, Evangelia Davlakou. Previously, Davlakou was at Jacksonville State for her freshman season.

Davlakou finished her high school career at Luella HS in Georgia. As a senior, the 5'5" guard averaged 13.6 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 steals and 3.1 rebounds per game. Davlakou earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-State honors in her senior year.

The Athens, Greece native also played at Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte and Johns Creek HS in Georgia. Between all three schools, she was part of a regional championship and a Class 1A NCISAA championship.

In her debut season with the Gamecocks, Davlakou appeared in 10 games. She played a total of 61 minutes in those games. Davlakou had three assists in her collegiate debut against Shorter.

Davlakou becomes the second Greek student-athlete to join the women's basketball program at New Orleans and the first since Vasso Beskaki (1995-99).
