NEW ORLEANS –
DeArica Pryor added to her list of accolades from the 2022-23 season after earning a spot on the All-Louisiana Team as voted on by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. The teams were announced on Tuesday.
Pryor made Third Team All-Louisiana after a season that saw her lead the Southland Conference in scoring and steals. Pryor's 2.85 steals per game ranked her 15
th in the nation at the conclusion of the season.
The second-year Privateer improved her scoring average from 11.2 points per game in her first season on the Lakefront to 16.3 last year. The Urbandale, Iowa native scored in double figures in 22 of her 27 games played.
Pryor scored 29 points in her season debut as the Privateers defeated South Alabama. That performance netted her Southland Player of the Week honors for the second time in her career. Pryor bookended that game with a career-high 35 against McNeese in the Southland Tournament.
For the second consecutive season, Pryor also made the Southland's All-Defensive Team. She finished with a total of 77 steals on the year and had a game-high six steals twice.
LSU swept the superlatives. Angel Reese won Player and Newcomer of the Year. Flau'jae Johnson won Freshman of the Year and Kim Mulkey won Coach of the Year. Hailey Giaratano (Southeastern), Candice Parramore (Northwestern State) and Lexi Alexander (Nicholls) rounded out the Southland representation on the All-Louisiana teams.
