NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team will play their final non-conference weekend a couple of hours west in Lafayette when they head to the University of Louisiana for the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic. The Privateers will play the host Ragin' Cajuns on Friday at 6 p.m. and Prairie View on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Privateers had two All-Tournament selections last weekend during the New Orleans Invitational.
Ava Kennon hit over .400 in each of the last two matches of the weekend and posted 26 kills to just six errors in 53 attempts.
Courtney Roundtree made her season debut and was a force in the middle for the Privateer offense and block. Roundtree had 25 kills and was in on eight total blocks throughout her first weekend of the '23 campaign.
Heading into the weekend, the Privateers have surrendered the fewest blocks among all Southland schools at 1.48 per set. They also rank second in service aces at 1.64 per set (54 total in 33 sets played through nine matches).

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Louisiana (6-5) is coming off a 2-1 weekend at North Florida. The Ragin' Cajuns lost a five-set battle that went down to the wire against the host Ospreys before sweeping Texas Southern. They opened the weekend by defeating Jacksonville. Shyla Richardson and Celeste Darling are both above the 100-kill mark for the season. The Cajuns are 14
th in the country in total kills with 516.
Prairie View (3-8) has caused issues for Southland opponents. The Panthers stung Texas A&M-Commerce in four sets and took perennial Southland power, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to five sets. Kylee Owens has registered double-digit kills in five of the last six matches and leads the offense with 134 kills this year. That total ranks Owens 41
st in the nation.
