Rita Zecchin) and the MVP (
Sophia Ewalefo). Also,
Sydney Gott made the All-Tournament Team in '22 after wins against Southern, Texas Southern and Western Illinois.
Speaking of All-Tournament recognition,
Ola Filip earned her first selection at the collegiate level after her performance in the Bellarmine Classic. The true freshman ended the weekend by posting her first career double-double against Southern Indiana.
Through two weekends, the Privateers have allowed the second fewest blocks per set among Southland programs. Only Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has conceded fewer blocks through the first two weeks of the '23 season.
New Orleans has put forth a fantastic record against their two opponents this weekend. The Privateers are a combined 77-20 against the Jaguars and Warhawks.
