Volleyball to Play First Road Conference Matches at Nicholls, McNeese

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team will go on their first road swing when they play a pair of in-state foes. The Privateers will be at Nicholls on Thursday (6:30 p.m.) and McNeese on Saturday (1 p.m.).

The McNeese match will be carried on ESPN+.

The Privateers played their first two home matches against conference foes. Most recently, New Orleans was defeated 3-0 by Southeastern on Tuesday night. Ryan Williams had 10 kills to lead the Privateer offense.

It was the seventh time Williams had reached double-digit kills in her collegiate career. She had a career-high 16 kills against Lamar on Sept. 30, 2023.

Courtney Roundtree recorded her fifth match of at least four total blocks this season when she hit that number against Southeastern. Roundtree's season-high in blocks is six against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. She has 38 total blocks (14 solo) in 48 sets played this year.

Chelsea Daffin continues to lead the way in kills (105) and digs (126) for the Privateers this season. Daffin had five kills against Southeastern on Tuesday. She has two double-doubles in 2024 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alcorn.

New Orleans has enjoyed a lot of recent success against the Colonels. The Privateers are 10-2 in their last 12 matches against Nicholls dating back to 2017.

McNeese leads the all-time series 34-20 and has won the last seven meetings against New Orleans. The last Privateer win against the Cowgirls came in October 2019.
