GAME NOTES
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team will conclude the regular season on Wednesday night when they host the McNeese Cowgirls at the Lakefront Arena. Tip is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Â
The Privateers enter the game with their seeding and opponent still unknown. They will play one of Nicholls, Northwestern State and Texas A&M-Commerce. The Privateers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Nicholls and split the regular season series with Northwestern State and Texas A&M-Commerce.
Â
New Orleans lost a double overtime heartbreaker 79-76 to UIW in San Antonio last Saturday.
Kristen Crenshaw-Gill nailed a corner three as the Privateers erased a 10-point halftime deficit to send the game into overtime. The Cardinals hit key free throws in the final minute of double overtime.
DeArica Pryor scored 20 points to lead New Orleans.
Â
Pryor played all 50 minutes in that contest and became the second Privateer in program history to play at least 50 minutes. Danielle Davis played 53 minutes in a triple overtime win against McNeese in February 2015.
Â
The Privateers currently rank inside the top 50 in free throws made per game. New Orleans has made an average of just over 14 free throws per contest which places them 39th in the country. Their 72.9 percent conversion rate from the free throw line ranks first in the Southland.
Â
Nora Francois has four double-doubles in her last five games. Against UIW, Francois scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. In those four games, Francois is averaging 19.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. She also had a career-high 30 points and 13 boards against Southeastern on Feb. 24.
Â
