NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Golf team will wrap up the 2023-2024 regular season in Kinder, La. at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament takes place at Koasati Pines Golf Course and is hosted by Nicholls State.
New Orleans has only made one prior appearance at Koasati Pines – a sixth-place finish in the 2012 Moe O'Brien Invitational to open that season. Former Privateer Ken Looper also won the 2010 LGA Championship at Koasati Pines the summer after his senior season.
The Privateers enter the final tournament of the season with a record of 64-38-2 (.637) with a 24-4 record against Southland foes (.857). New Orleans' stroke average of 287.3 is on pace to break the school record set in 2019-2020 by two strokes. The team has shot 11 rounds of 21 under par this season – tied for the 2007-2008 squad for the most in school history.
FORMAT
The teams will play 36 holes of golf on Monday with another 18 on Tuesday morning. The Koasati Pines Intercollegiate will use the shotgun format with shotgun starts at 8:00 a.m. on both days. New Orleans is paired on Monday with Abilene Christian, HCU, and Southeastern.

The University of New Orleans golf team finished in a three-way tie for fifth place at the Big Texan two weeks ago. The Privateers compiled rounds of 288, 304, and 290 for a score of 882 at Riverhill Country Club.
Ryan Fulton led the way individually finishing tied for 16
th with a score of 218.

LAST TIME AT KOASATI PINES
The Privateers finished sixth at the 2012 Moe O'Brien Invitational in their only competitive outing at Koasati Pines. Hunter Smith finished inside the top ten with a 36-hole score of 144, while 2012 Louisiana Newcomer of the Year Bryan Odaiyar finished inside the top-15 in his Privateer debut after shooting a 146.
