FINAL RESULTS (Delta Timing)
BATON ROUGE – The University of New Orleans track and field program shook off some rust as it opened its 2025 track and field season on Friday at the LSU Purple Tiger.
Christopher Murphy (LJ) and
Emma Bourg (mile) had strong starts to the season. Murphy placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 7.04 meters on his fifth attempt. Bourg finished 13th in the mile, where LSU student-athletes claimed nine of the top 12 spots. Her time of 5:05.74 was less than a second off her personal best of 5:04.78, set at last season's Southland Conference Championships.
Darryl George Jr. set a personal best in the men's 60-meter dash, tying teammate
Madonna Favour for 18th place with a time of 6.95 seconds—a tenth of a second faster than his performance at last year's Purple Tiger.
Christina Davis came within five centimeters of a new personal best in the weight throw, finishing ninth with a toss of 12.54 meters on her third attempt. She later placed 11th in the shot put with a throw of 11.35 meters.
