School Record Broken at the Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE – Evan Pardo(Jr.) broke the indoor 5000m record with a time of 14:17.15. Pardo's perseverance through a tough fourth kilometer paid off with the incredibly strong finish that solidified his achievement. He now holds two of the top five times in this event. This follows his stellar performance last meet in the 3000m, with a first place finish, personal best, and fifth fastest time in school history. He is certainly making the most of his junior season.

Annika Metzger(Fr.) also had her eyes set on accomplishments this weekend. In her debut mile, she finishes first in her heat(6) with a time of 4:58.31, which is is now the eighteenth fasted mile performance(W) in school history. This performance also sets a new 1500m personal best. She then continues on day 2 with another heat(4) victory in the 800m with a lifetime personal best time of 2:14.57. She placed seventh in final rankings with this time. Her first official 800m attempt is now the eighth fasting time in school history and third fastest by a freshman. Impressive results for two event debuts. As Coach Clayton stated, "She is learning quickly."

Finding success in perseverance was a theme for the Privateers. There were a total of 10 personal bests recorded in Nashville. Christopher Murphy(Sr.) jumped an indoor PB of 7.22m in the long jump, placing sixth overall. Emma Bourg(So.) ran a 17:30.63 personal best in the 5000m, now the ninth fastest time in school history. Tshilidzi Netshiombo(Fr.) runs two personal bests in the 60m and the 200m. Layden Jack(Fr.) also had 2 personal bests in the 600m and the 400m, placing in the top 15 for both events. Christina Davis(So.) makes progress in shot put with a personal best throw of 11.76m. And Michela Papalia(Fr.) ran a 3000m personal best of 10:15.74.
