NEW ORLEANS — Head Coach
Clayton O'Callaghan is sending his University of New Orleans track and field team to three different meets over the next few days: the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas; the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
Jose Manuel Rodriguez,
Yoran Kabala-Kabengle,
Olamipo Ladipo,
Keldrick Turner and
Daryl Bachmann will head to Austin to compete in the prestigious Texas Relays starting Thursday. Rodriguez will try to top his Southland-leading mark in the 800 meters (1:49.71) at 6:49 p.m. tomorrow evening.
The four sprinters will run in both the Carlette Guidry 4x100-meter relay at 9:35 a.m. Friday and the 100-meter invitational later that afternoon. The 100-meter dash is broken up into preliminaries and a final.
Forty minutes south of Austin, a host of Privateers are set to compete at the Bobcat Invitational on the campus of Texas State.
Tshilidzi Netshiombo (100-meter B section, 200-meter B section),
Nyah Harrison (200-meter B section) and Bachmann (200-meter B section) will start things off for the Privateers at the Texas State Track and Field Complex on Thursday afternoon.
On Friday afternoon, Kabala-Kabengle, Ladipo, Turner and Bachmann will travel to the Bobcat Invitational to compete in the 200-meter dash at 5:50 p.m.
Saturday afternoon in San Marcos,
Ashley Robinson and
Nyah Harrison will run in the women's 400 meters at 3:30 p.m., with Turner, Ladipo and Netshiombo running the men's 400 meters at 3:50 p.m. Kabala-Kabengle, Ladipo and Bachmann will run in the men's 100 meters at 4:25 p.m.
Closing out Saturday at the Bobcat Invitational will be Netshiombo, Rodriguez, Ladipo and Turner in the men's 4x400-meter relay at 5 p.m.
On the throws side,
Christina Davis,
Keon Woolridge and
Tyler Mitchell will start things off for the Privateers at Southern Miss on Friday afternoon. Woolridge will throw the hammer at 2 p.m., with Davis (hammer) and Mitchell (javelin) to follow. Davis will also throw the shot put Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Running in Hattiesburg for the Privateers on Saturday will be
Alexa Daverio (1,500 meters, 12:10 p.m.),
Alex Williams (1,500 meters, 1:15 p.m.),
Landen Juneau (1,500 meters, 1:15 p.m.),
Katie Burnett (400 meters, TBD),
Serenity Harris (400 meters, TBD),
LeeAira Williams (100 meters, 200 meters, both TBD),
Gennieve Davis (100 meters, 200 meters, both TBD),
London Parker (800 meters, TBD),
Grant Young (800 meters, TBD).
