ALGIERS – University of New Orleans juniors
Taylor Boasberg and
Garrett Trahan led the Privateer "B" team to a seventh-place finish and score of 889 at the 2025 Gulf Coast Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The Privateer "A" team finished with a score of 899 and was led by
Matt Weber's score of 222.
Boasberg finished tied for 14th – one stroke out of a top-10 finish with a score of 218 – a 20-stroke improvement on his debut at last season's Gulf Coast Collegiate, and a personal best. Over 54 holes, the New Orleans native sank 12 birdies and made 31 pars. He finished tied for 14th – the second top-25 and top-15 finish of his career.

Garrett Trahan's score of 221 was also a personal best, and a one-stroke improvement on his 222 earlier this season at the LaTOUR Intercollegiate. The junior made 11 birdies over the past two days.
Three Privateers finished tied for 28th place with scores of 222 –
Matt Weber, Maximilian Feistmantl and
Britton Khalaf. After a rough opening round, Weber was 2-under par on his final 36 holes, including a 69 in the final round – his first round under 70 this season and third of his UNO career.
Feistmantl shot a 76 in round one, before improving two strokes in round two, and shooting even par on Tuesday afternoon. The Austrian made 11 birdies during the tournament. Khalaf had the best finish and score of his time at UNO with an 11-stroke improvement over his score at this year's Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
The Privateers were tied for sixth in the field with 37 birdies as a team, and fourth in pars made with 170. Two Privateers – Jude Bourqe and Khalaf – made eagles during the event.
The New Orleans golf team will return to competitive play March 10-11 at the South Texas Match Play event hosted by UTRGV at McAllen Country Club in McAllen, Texas.
