NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Track and Field Program will look to build on last year's record-breaking performances when it heads back to the Birmingham CrossPlex for the 2025 Southland Indoor Championships on Sunday and Monday.
Last season, the women's team finished fourth with 93 points – both program bests for the second year in a row. The men finished sixth with 56 points – the second-highest total in program history.
Six Privateers who scored at last season's Indoor Championships return:
Emma Bourg collected 15 points after winning a gold medal with the women's distance medley relay team and a fourth-place finish in the women's mile.
Madonna Favour collected six points after finishing fourth in the men's 60-meter dash, while
Josh Johnston (2 points, men's 3,000 meters) and
Christopher Murphy also scored (1 point, long jump) for the Privateers.
Darryl George Jr. was part of two relay teams that scored last season, collecting 1 point in both the distance medley relay and 4x400 relay.
Mason Appleton was also part of that men's distance medley relay squad.
Both days of the Southland Indoor Championships will air live on ESPN+. Coverage will begin on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
