Men's Tennis Will Host Bryant Before Going to City Park for Match at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team will face a pair of foes this week. A home match against Bryant on Wednesday (2 p.m.) will be followed by a match at City Park against Tulane on Friday at 11 a.m.

The men's team is 6-3 on the season heading into their conference matches, which start on Mar. 22. Though Bryant is a Southland member in tennis, the match on Wednesday will not count toward conference standings.

Last time on the court, the Privateers made quick work of St. Mary's (Texas) in a 7-0 victory. Matthew Armbruster returned to the lineup and won his doubles match along with Sep de Visser. In singles, Armbruster came back from down 8-2 in a 10-point third set tiebreak to win 10-8.

Julian Franzmann and de Visser co-lead the Privateers in singles match victories with four. Franzmann has won three of his four matches in straight sets while de Visser has accomplished all four of his victories in straight sets.

As a team, the Privateers have won just over 72 percent of their singles matches on the season.

The Privateers have played Bryant twice, both in Southland tournament settings. New Orleans has won both of those matches 4-1 (2023) and 4-2 (2024). New Orleans is looking for their first win against Tulane since 2010.
