NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's and women's tennis teams will both make a return trip to Mississippi Gulf Coast to face the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Both matches will start at 2 p.m.
MEN'S PREVIEW
The Privateer men (7-4) are coming off a tough battle that they lost 5-2 against the Tulane Green Wave last Friday.
David Tesic and
Sep de Visser both won singles matches for the Privateers. Two other matches went to three sets against the Green Wave.
On the season, de Visser leads the Privateers in singles wins. He currently sports a 6-2 mark in his first collegiate season. He has won three consecutive matches against opponents from St. Mary's (Texas), Bryant and Tulane.
Four Privateers have five wins each on the year.
David Tesic is 5-1 this spring.
Marc Mail,
Julian Franzmann and
Joseph Townes are all 5-2. As a team, the Privateers have gone 33-15 in singles this year.
The Privateers won 6-1 against Mississippi Gulf Coast in the opening match of the season. They swept the doubles matches and won at every flight except flight one in singles.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW
The Privateer women (3-6) are looking to snap a five-match losing streak after falling to Tulane and Rhode Island. The Privateers picked up two points against Tulane.
Fleur Sprengers has four singles wins to lead the team this season. Sprengers has also combined with
Kateryna Kalistratova have paired together for three victories in doubles in 2025.
The Privateers swept Mississippi Gulf Coast to open the season. The women swept doubles and won their singles matches in straight sets. Five of the six Privateers dropped four or fewer games in their singles wins.
From there, the Privateers have a four-match homestand that includes conference bouts against UTRGV, Texas A&M-CC and Nicholls.
