FRISCO, Texas –
Nora Francois won the final Southland Player of the Week award for the 2024-25 regular season, which was announced on Thursday afternoon by the Southland Conference office.
That brings her total to three Player of the Week awards this season. The last Privateer to have three Player of the Week awards in the same season was Carvie Upshaw when she did it in the 1988-89 season while the Privateers were in the American South Conference.
Francois finished strong as the Privateers won back-to-back games against UTRGV and McNeese to close out the season.
Against McNeese, Francois had her seventh game of at least 20 points when she went for 24. The senior center also hauled in nine boards. Francois was especially proficient at the free throw line, making 13-of-14 attempts. The 13 makes tied for fifth most in program history.
She also had a double-double against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (16 points and 11 rebounds). Against UTRGV, Francois scored 16 points and went 6-of-9 from the field.
Francois finished the regular season third in points (15.0), fifth in rebounds (8.2), third in free throw percentage (.826), tied for seventh in steals (1.8) and tied for sixth in blocks (1.6) among all Southland Conference players.
