NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans beach volleyball team (2-10) completed their time at The March to May today (Saturday, March 8) with two losses against UT Martin and UAB. Both of the final scores were 5-0. This brings the team's final record for the weekend to 0-4.
There were no changes in the lineup after Friday's shifts.
The Privateers did not see victories in the tangible sense this weekend, but they did observe improvements that they will take with them as they approach mid-conference. Co-captain
Nikelle Lander discussed takeaways from this weekend, "My biggest takeaway from this weekend is the importance of growth and overcoming adversity. Although losing is never fun, I believe it's often where we learn and grow the most. Competing against high-level teams like the ones we faced this weekend was an invaluable experience, pushing us to test our abilities and see what we're capable of. It was also inspiring to witness our progress firsthand—we faced UAB a few weekends ago at Tulane and most of our team showed noticeable improvements in both scores and confidence. Seeing that growth in action was really rewarding. Although the weekend didn't go as we hoped, it leaves me feeling optimistic for the rest of the season and excited to see what we can achieve moving forward!"
New Orleans did not clash against a single conference team this weekend, and the team will not face any conference competition until mid-conference in two weeks. The Privateers will continue to learn from their matches against high-level teams to best prepare themselves for Southland battles.
