Women's Basketball to Host Lamar, Stephen F. Austin

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team will play another pair of home games this week with a Thursday bout against Lamar followed by starting a Saturday doubleheader against Stephen F. Austin.
 
New Orleans lost their last outing 79-64 to Nicholls. Lauren Banks had a team-high 15 points and three Privateers scored in double figures but Nicholls won the fourth quarter 23-9.
 
Hailee Brennen set new season highs twice in minutes played over the last four games with 29 against Texas A&M-CC and 30 against Southeastern. In 11 prior games, Brennen only went over 15 minutes three times and had a season-high of 19 minutes played against Tulsa. Brennen is also averaging 6.3 rebounds per game over the last four contests.
 
Jayla Kimbrough has averaged 12.0 points per game since Southland play started. Kimbrough has five double-digit scoring efforts in her last seven games. She has also averaged 6.0 rebounds per game in the same stretch.
 
Lauren Banks has led the way in ensuring more second chance opportunities for the Privateers. The graduate student has 24 total offensive rebounds in seven conference games and ranks third in the league in that category in Southland only games. As a team, the Privateers are first in the league in offensive rebounds since league play began.
 
The Privateers are 19-25 all-time against Lamar. The Cardinals have won the last three meetings. Against Stephen F. Austin, the Privateers are 4-11 all-time. The Lady Jacks have won four straight games in the all-time series.
 
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Lamar is 7-0 at home but just 1-6 on the road this season. The Cardinals are coming off a 78-62 victory over UIW and are 5-2 in Southland play. The Cardinals have the second best scoring defense in the Southland, allowing just 59.2 points per game. Jacei Denley leads the league in three-point percentage at 44.8.
 
Stephen F. Austin sits at 11-5 overall and 5-2 in Southland play. The Lady Jacks are on a four-game winning streak entering the week. Four players rank in the top 13 in points in the Southland, led by Harmanie Dominguez who is averaging 14.9 points per game. Stephen F. Austin averages 76.4 points per game, most in the Southland.
