MOBILE, Ala. – The New Orleans Privateers track and field team will run their first relays of the season as part of the USA Jaguar Invitational which takes place on Sunday at the Birmingham Crossplex. The one-day event is scheduled to start with the field events at noon.
There will be three men's 4x400 relay teams slated to compete in three different heats.
Olamipo Ladipo,
Keldrick Turner,
Martin Liaud and
Tshilidzi Netshiombo comprise the Privateers' A team that will run in the first heat.
The same holds true for the women as there will also be three relay teams participating in the women's 4x400. The A-team features
Ashley Robinson,
Agathe Tronchon,
London Parker and
Candilynn Vega. All four women are all slated to compete individual events as well.
The day gets started with the throwers.
Christina Davis, coming off a personal best in the weight throw will compete in that event again along with the shot put. Davis beat her previous personal best by nearly a meter at the LSU Purple Tiger.
Antonio Creger and
Keon Woolridge will compete in their second collegiate meet as the pair of freshmen are in the field for the shot put. Woolridge will also compete in the weight throw.
On the men's side,
Jose Rodriguez, who has the top overall time in the 800-meter coming in will be the top seed in the event on Sunday. Rodriguez has a best time of 1:49.68. Nobody else in the field has a personal best below 1:52.
Div. I schools who will also have representation at the event include South Alabama, Southern Miss, Samford, Georgia State, Alabama State and Alabama A&M.
