NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team will play a pair of in-state opponents this week. A road game against Southeastern on Thursday will be followed by a home contest on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Nicholls.
The Privateers lost their lats outing 72-63 to East Texas A&M on Saturday. Three Privateers reached double figures led by
Shanihya Brown who had 14 points to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Brown pops up in the top ten in several categories among Southland players. Entering Thursday she ranks:

nd in assists per game (4.1)

st in steals per game (3.2)

rd in free throws made (51)
Sephora Kayolo has six games under her belt since returning to the court in early December. Kayolo notched her second double-digit scoring output with 11 points against East Texas A&M and is averaging 6.2 points along with 4.0 rebounds per game in 18.3 minutes per game.
The Privateers have improved at the charity stripe in their last six games. They have gone over 70 percent from the free throw line four times in the last six contests. In their first seven games of the season, the Privateers only went over that threshold twice. Against conference opponents, the Privateers are third in free throw percentage (76.5).
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Southeastern (2-10, 1-4) has lost seven straight coming into the week. Their last victory was in their opening conference game on Nov. 22 against East Texas A&M. Aliyah Collins is third in the league in points with 14.5 per game. Lihi Azouri is shooting 39 percent from three-point range, good for seventh in the Southland.
Nicholls (7-5, 3-2) is coming off a 50-46 loss to Northwestern State in their most recent outing. The Colonels are fourth in the league in scoring offense and third in scoring defense. Emani Burks is tied for seventh in the Southland in rebounds per game, averaging 6.3.
