NEW ORLEANS –
Jacob Rouleau-Mailly debuted with an 8-0 mark and as a result earned, Southland Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, announced by the Southland Conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Rouleau-Mailly, a transfer from Northern Kentucky, hit the ground running with the rest of the men's squad as they powered their way to a 4-0 record as a team in their first week of spring competition.
The Quebec, Canada native played all of his singles matches at flight one and all of his doubles matches with teammate,
Marius Gyllerup at flight two and he was victorious in all eight of them.
Rouleau-Mailly only dropped one set all week in singles and he only conceded 11 total games over his last six sets in singles while compiling wins against Dillard, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Coastal Alabama and Copiah Lincoln.
In doubles, Rouleau-Mailly and Gyllerup were pushed to a 7-5 decision against Mississippi Gulf Coast. The other three matches were done with three or fewer games conceded for the pair.
The last Southland Men's Tennis Player of the Week was
David Tesic who won the honor in the first week of April in 2025.
