NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's basketball team will conclude their four-game road trip with a pair of contests at Lamar and Stephen F. Austin on Saturday and Monday respectively. The Privateers come in tied for fourth place, which would mean a first round bye in the Southland Tournament.

The Privateers won their last outing at UIW 78-64 on Monday night. Four Privateers scored in double figures, and the team shot 51.9 percent from the field to help put the game away. The win also moved New Orleans to 6-0 on Monday night games in 2026.

Jakevion Buckley has 133 total assists this season and leads the Southland in assists per game. Buckley is also second in total assists only to Gianni Hunt of East Texas A&M (136).

Buckley is on the brink of entering the top ten for assists in a single season in program history. He is three away from tying for 10th with Gabe Corchiani (1987), Claude Butler (1981) and Duane Reboul (1969).

The Privateers are 16th in the country and first in the conference in free throws attempted. They average 25.7 free throw trips per game this season. At this pace, they would have 798 attempts by the end of the regular season which would rank sixth in program history. They are 67 makes away from tying the school record (585 in 1987-88).

It marks the fifth time New Orleans went for double-digit conference wins since joining the Southland. The Privateers' highest win total since joining the conference was in their championship year (2016) when they went 13-5.
