NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Golf program's spring season gets underway with the 2026 edition of the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. UNO will host the event at English Turn in Algiers, La. for the second consecutive season.
FORMAT
The teams will play 36 holes of golf on Monday, and 18 on Tuesday. Both days will feature the shotgun format with tee times at 8:00 a.m.
The following schools are confirmed to compete in the event: Augusta, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Bellarmine, Belmont, Central Arkansas, Eastern Illinois, Loyola (Chicago), Murray State, Nicholls, St. John's, Southeastern, Southern Indiana, and Tennessee Tech.
Belmont, Murray State and UNO will have independent golfers as well. The Privateers are paired with Augusta and Tennessee Tech for the opening round.

Back-to-back rounds below par capped an outstanding performance by the University of New Orleans golf team at the LaTOUR Intercollegiate to close the fall season. The Privateers' three-round score of 852 was their lowest at a par-72 course since 2009 and the fifth-lowest 54-hole total in program history.

Matthew Lotz (1-under) all finished their third rounds under par. UNO's score of 279 on in round three tied for the ninth-lowest single round in team history and marks their best round at a par-72 course since the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge.

Taylor Boasberg and
Garrett Trahan led the Privateer "B" team to a seventh-place finish and score of 889 at the 2025 Gulf Coast. The Privateer "A" team finished with a score of 899 and was led by
Matt Weber's score of 222.
Boasberg finished tied for 14th – one stroke out of a top-10 finish with a score of 218 – a 20-stroke improvement on his debut at 2024 Gulf Coast Collegiate. Over 54 holes, the New Orleans native sank 12 birdies and made 31 pars. He finished tied for 14th – the second top-25 and first top-15 finish of his career.
