NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team will play three matches over the next five days which starts with a quick trip to Hattiesburg. The Privateers will play Southern Miss on Friday before returning home to face Norfolk State on Monday and College of Charleston on Tuesday.
The Privateers lost their first match of the season last Sunday against Tulane, but were in several matches across the board. The Green Wave were on the right side of two of the three matches that went three sets in singles.
In doubles, the Green Wave won both of their matches at flights two and three by 6-4 score lines.
Jacob Rouleau-Mailly and
Jerall Yasin were locked in a 5-5 tie with the 43
rd ranked doubles team in the nation on Sunday.
Yasin made his singles debut against the Green Wave, playing at flight five. Also
Peter Kieslinger made his season debut in singles against Tulane. The freshman from Austria debuted at flight six.
The Privateers have had a measure of success against the Golden Eagles recently having won four of the last five matches since 2020. New Orleans blanked Southern Miss 4-0 in February 2025.
New Orleans has played College of Charleston twice: a loss in 2017 and a victory in 2022.
Southern Miss, whom the Privateers will be starting the week against, are 3-4 this season with wins over Lubbock Christian, Jackson State and Alcorn State.
