NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight season, the University of New Orleans golf team will make the two-hour journey east to Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Ala., for the 2026 edition of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on March 30-31.
Monday marks the third appearance at Magnolia Grove for UNO since 1992. Both prior times, the team finished in ninth place. New Orleans shot 660 in a rain-shortened 36 holes in 1993, and an 887 over a full three rounds last season.
Matt Weber has the best 54-hole score at Magnolia Falls for an individual Privateer after carding a 219 at last season's event.
Returning Privateers from that tournament last season include
Garrett Trahan (227), Max Fiestmantl (227),
Tom Watson (221), and
Taylor Boasberg (223). Boasberg's second-round score of 70 last season is the Privateers' lowest-ever individual round at Magnolia Falls.
FORMAT
Teams will play 54 holes over two days, with two rounds Monday and a final 18 holes Tuesday morning. The event will use a shotgun start with an 8:30 a.m. start time both days.
The following schools are confirmed to compete in the event:
South Alabama (hosts), Delaware, HCU, Kansas State, Loyola (Chicago), Marshall, Nicholls, Samford, Texas State, UAB and Valparaiso. In addition, Alabama and LSU will send three individual golfers as well.

The Privateers posted three rounds of 295 or better and finished eighth at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational.
Max Feistmantl notched his second consecutive top-10 finish after rounds of 71, 68, and 73 gave him a 210 total.

The Privateers finished ninth at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate last season.
Matt Weber's with eight birdies in the tournament and tied for 33rd overall with a score of 219.
Tom Watson used closed with back-to-back rounds of 72 and finished tied for 40th with a score of 219 - he made par on 39 holes with four additional birdies.
